DESCRIPTION: Chevalier, Paris, France, multicolor gold verge fusee, key wind and set, signed, gilt full plate movement with pierced and engraved balance bridge in an 18 karat, four color gold, consular open face case with applied varicolor foliate ornament, the back also with landscape showing a dog sitting under a tree, and Roman numeral, outer black 5-minute markers, signed, white enamel dial, gold beetle and poker hands, serial #1962, 40mm, 48.3g TW, c1780.
CONDITION: CASE: Applied ornament with wear; Slight dimple at catch spring screw; Pendant with small notch from bow; Bow a bit loose; Crystal cracked; Precious metal content tested. DIAL: Hairline in enamel, very light, 1:00, at edge; A few minor flakes around winding hole; A bit of verdigris at edge. HANDS: Very good. MOVEMENT PLATES: Fine scratches; Minor losses to blue at screw slots. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks).
